Bonnie Benson is a Boise State graduate equipped with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary & Early Childhood Education, as well as a Master of Arts in School Counseling. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho and is a board-certified counselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors.
Bonnie has an abundance of experience in her field; she has worked with adolescents who have struggled with family change/divorce, trauma, behavioral and social problems. To add to that, she has assisted many adults challenged by depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, transition, relationship concerns, grief, divorce, and more. She has a true passion to help others which shines through in her work. She has gone the extra mile to ease the struggles that often go along with parenting and is now offering The Love & Logic Way Parenting classes. Love & Logic is a research-driven, whole-child philosophy founded in 1977 by Jim Fay and Foster W. Cline, M.D. With this program, Bonnie can equip parents with a practical, straightforward philosophy which can be immediately applied to a range of situations.
Clients often view Bonnie as grounded, calm and someone who creates a safe space for them to express themselves. Together, she and her clients work to validate current feelings and thoughts, create a vision for future changes and discuss goals. She is currently accepting new clients and even offers a free 30 minute, in person counseling consultation.
